I am so glad you're here! I'm Nicole, Founder and Bread Curator at For the Love of Sourdough, a small community-based microbakery I started back in 2020 in the red brick townhomes of Baltimore, Maryland. It was an honor to bake lots and lots of sourdough (gluten free too!) from my home kitchen in the Rodgers Forge historic district during the crazy pandemic we all will remember.
We are now in Mesa, Arizona serving the same organic and decadent sourdough boules and gluten free loaves in my favorite little corner of the Arizona desert, our home. I am a native to this area so the nostalgic vibes are in full swing where I get to continue to share my passion for sourdough baking and teaching with this local community where I grew up. We are an Arizona Department of Health approved cottage food bakery serving anyone in the valley! I am so happy I get to serve you through my art of bread baking, primarily organic sourdough breads and sweets.
All of my country sourdough boules are made with 100% organic flours, water, Himalayan pink salt and are also vegan, soy, nut and dairy free. Our gluten free sourdough loafs are also dairy free and 100% gluten free and vegan. We also offer some tasty inclusions and seasonal items with an extra sourdough flare.
Created in 2020 from two simple ingredients, water and organic whole wheat flour, Mr. Bubbles is our trusty wild harvested sourdough starter. He is a live, wild, natural yeast used in each loaf to enhance flavor and rise. He has survived the cross country drive from Maryland to Arizona and is still the life of the party. His memory lives on back east as he was distributed to more than 30 homes prior to our departure. We also have our beautiful and Sweet Hazel who is our gluten free, wild, organic sourdough starter for our GF sourdough boules made with organic brown rice flour.
